Brittany Lane is an up and coming singer/songwriter whose upbeat lyrics, contagious smile, and catchy sound, are sure to capture the hearts of many. She started out with a 5-year-old’s dream, writing silly songs and singing them into a Fisher Price microphone, but it wasn’t until she was 15 that she mustered up the courage to show someone one of the songs she had written.
Brittany spent most of
her life living in Ottawa, Ontario. She taught herself how to play piano and learned guitar from a poster she bought for $6 in a Wal-Mart, but you’d never know it by hearing her music. She’s just as great live as she is recorded. After traveling back and forth to Nashville a few times, Brittany took the plunge in November 2010, packed up her life and moved to music city to be in the heart of all the action. Less than one year later, she’s releasing her first EP “Leave Your Mark”.
“I poured 100% of ME into this record, it’s the most vulnerable I've ever been” says Brittany. But her music isn’t that slow, sad stuff, its ‘roadtrip’ music, “the kind that makes you want to roll down all the windows, sing at the top of your lungs, and dance in the car”, says Brittany. “My hope is that my fans feel like that when they hear it!"
Brittany’s EP has four songs: ‘Whats’ it gonna take?’, ‘Leave your mark’, ‘Kiss you in the rain (Kyles Song)’, and ‘Everytime’. Each song is a glimpse into Brittany’s life and the impact that people have left on her heart. From the first moment to the last second of the EP you can feel the soul and zeal for life Brittany intertwines into the lyrics and music of her songs.
