Bio:
Lady Dee began singing at the tender age of 4 in the church choir Mt. Zion MBC, Lorain, OH. The first song she remembers singing is one about making the devil sit on a tack! She was 4 years old and singing with a small but mighty voice. She began singing professionally at the age of 15, accompanied by her father and cousin (both deceased) to venues where she was not of legal age to enter alone. As she grew, her voice further developed from continued singing in both church and school. Some of her early credits are with the world renowned Cass Tech Harp and Vocal Ensemble of Detroit, and at Kentucky State University: The Opera Workshop and Concert Choir.

Lady Dee sang in several bands in Kentucky, with members of the now famous Midnight Star, and others, and in Detroit with bands booked by the top agencies, Mel Ball, Lorio & Ross and Gail & Rice. She also was featured with Mass Transit of Sound, Everlife, Kaleidoscope and Intrigue-all sought after bands. She has continued to sing throughout the years also in church choirs and praise teams at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church & Word of Faith International Christian Center, on the praise team at Word of Faith. In addition, she serves in the field of education as an elementary and middle school principal, where she is known as Dr. Harris.

Some of the venues she has performed in include local TV dance shows The Scene & R.J. Watkins's The New Dance Show, area luxury hotel & nightclubs, Cobo Hall, Hart Plaza Summer Festivals, North America International Auto Show, Music Hall, Jazz Café, Local Casinos-MGM, Greektown, and Motor City. Lady Dee has traveled to perform in a plethora of cities in the Canadian Provinces of Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. During her experiences as an entertainer, she has forged the following notable connections that are now friendships with Stevie Wonder, The Calloways, who she performed with recently, and the members of Midnight Star-especially Belinda Lipscomb.

In the late 1970’s to mid 1980’s, Lady Dee performed with a popular local Detroit group called Everlife. The group was signed to and recorded on the eventually defunct record label, 20th Century Fox. Although the company went under before they could promote the group, she has never given up hope that one day her dream of reaching the world with her voice will come to fruition. She also pursues acting as a career and most recently (1/11) performed as an Extra on the ABC television show, Detroit 187 and in the cast of the nation’s #1 Gospel Stage Play, T. J. Hemphill’s Perilous Times!
