Blue Gene figures that you people have been deprived of the real thing for too long. So he takes time off from his busy life as a husband and father of nine to create these shouts of joyful pain or painful joy as the case may be.
Blue Gene is Gene McCaffrey, one of the original New York rockers in what came to be called punk. He played in the Slumlords, the Sinatras, and Fun No Fun. Major influences: old school R&R and R&B, the Stones, the Stooges, and especially the New York Dolls.
The Red Bloods, on these recordings, is but one: Bill Stevenson on drums. Bill is the drummer in The Descendents and Flag and All and is one of the best drummers in the world. He is also a partner in the Blasting Room of Fort Collins, CO, one of the very best studios in the world. These recordings were mixed and in some cases recorded at the Blasting Room.
