Leah Lou & The 2 Left S h o e s from Cleveland, Ohio, consists of songwriter Leah Lou and bassist Daniel Lee. The former indie label mates met in early 2009 and quickly realized that they shared the same musical interests. The duo, originally a trio, formed soon after. After losing their drummer a week before a performance, Leah and Daniel had to think quickly about how to incorporate percussion into their performance in such a short amount of time. "Lets just stomp our feet!" Daniel suggested. "Our LEFT feet!" added Leah. And thus, the idea was born. In the beginning, they tied plastic bags to their feet and used a cooler hooked up to a pedal for a kick drum. The idea evolved when Daniel found a lonely garbage can in his apartment hallway. He took it, slapped on the pedal and their trash can kick drum's heart started beating. With the addition of a tap s h o e, tambourine, Glockenspiel and a loop pedal, came the beginning of an ever evolving project that continues to take audiences by surprise time after time. Before these two accomplished musicians got together, they were very successful in their own right. Leah Lou was originally a solo artist who quickly made her mark on the Cleveland music scene. Playing shows all over Cleveland was only the start for for this self taught musician. Local Television and Radio were requesting her music and she was soon being asked to open for National acts that come in to Cleveland. Some of these acts include, Don Felder formerly of The Eagles, Marc Broussard, and Eric Hutchinson. She was also featured on Chuck Mosley's, (former frontman of Faith No More), album "Will Rap Over Hard Rock For Food" which also included featured artists Michael Cartellone of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Roddy Bottum of Faith No More, and Jonathan Davis of Korn. Her songwriting ability, along with her unique voice will grab your attention and leave you wanting more. Daniel Lee is a highly respected bassist and regarded as one of the best in Cleveland. In his earlier years, he won the "Outstanding Musicianship" award 5 years in a row from the Tri-C Jazz Fest. He graduated with a major in music from the Cleveland School of the Arts, where he studied with jazz legends such as Max Roach, and Abe Laboriel. Daniel was accepted into The Berkley College of Music but decided to tour and record instead. He has shared the stage with artists which include, Dudley Moore, Barry Manilow, Jimmy Buffett and more. He has performed in front of crowds as big as 20,000 people, and even performed for former President of the United States, George H. Bush. His ability to take Leah Lou's lyrics and melodies and turn them into a reality make "Leah Lou & The 2 Left S h o e s" the incomparable and unstoppable talent that they are. These two toe tappers continue to reinvent the music scene with their quirky but relevent tunes and untraditional stage setup. The words will touch your soul, and the beat will have you stomping along with them.
