Intrinsic is a Subvert-Rock band formed in Greece in November 2008 by brothers Alex J and Mykel "Nitro" Bellanca. Intrinsic was formed after the band Xanthium broke up just a few days earlier. Members at this time were brothers-Alex Bellanca on guitar, Mykel Nitro on drums and lead vocals-and Justin Russell on bass. Intrinsic would slip into hiatus in October 2009 but from February-May 2010, Intrinsic played a few reunion shows mainly to support their debut studio album "Below The Violence".
In February 2011, Intrinsic reformed and made it official in May when they announced ex-SkinTrap founder Skyler Smith would be the new bass player. The band entered Watchmen Studios and recorded four demos with Doug White, Watchmen Studio's owner and only engineer. Intrinsic added ex-Anchorage Nebraska drummer and Comedown lead vocalist Phil Tharp to the group in November. Though the band planned to release their first album in over two years on March 31, they have pushed it back and plan to release "Escape From Instinct" on April 24, 2012.
