Shahidah attended Mannequin Modeling Agency and enrolled in acting classes at John Casablancas. She then created a profile with One Source Talent and started going to her first auditions. Additionally; she was featured in “I Done it All,” by V12 Mobb feat. Young Buck. All the while; Shahidah broadened her skills in dancing by taking classes at Wayne State University in ballet and African dance. Furthermore; she has appeared in various fashion shows and worked in a few feature films. She was a college student in "The 5 Year Engagement," a club patron in "Sparkle," and a townsperson in “Into the Storm.” Shahidah enhanced her skills as an actress with veteran actor and producer John Forman (Detroit Performance Workshop). Shortly after; she signed with the I Group Talent Agency and continued going to auditions. She recently landed roles in both the independent film “Count Time” and "Spare the Rod" the stage play.
On August 27th, 2013; Shahidah released her debut album “I’m Up Next” on all digital platforms drawing rave reviews. Her latest singles “So Hood” and “Over Here” have been receiving airplay on college, local, online, and major radio stations.
