Bio:: Troy Cartwright is a musician and songwriter born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Troy calls his style country soul–rooted in the Texas country style he was brought up in, but influenced by rock and alt-country as well. Troy has played throughout the United States and abroad, for crowds of over 10,000 people, and in places such as New York, Boston, Oslo, Dallas, Hoboken, and all over the eastern seaboard.

Troy's career began as a guitarist and singer at his church in his early teens. Soon after, he formed a band and began playing original material in his hometown. He has headlined some of the largest venues in Dallas, cementing him as a mainstay in the scene there. His greatest influences include Ryan Adams, country greats such as Willy Nelson and Townes Van Zandt, Texas legends Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green, and Jack Ingram, and a healthy dose of indie rockers Okkervil River.

Now based in Boston, Troy is a recent graduate of the Berklee College of Music. He continues to write and gig relentlessly, playing regularly at venues in Boston, New York City, and Vermont. In the summer of 2011, he made his first foray into the international scene in Oslo, Norway. He released his first EP 'Gather Your Head' in the spring of 2012 (available at TroyCartwright.com)

Going forward, he will seek out opportunities in New York, Scandinavia, and the Northeast. A prolific songwriter, Troy is releasing a compilation of live demos via youtube, and is embarking on a European tour in May.
