In 2011, Troy D digitally distributed his self-written EP, "S'wet," through Island Def Jams Tunecore and sold out his debut show in Chicago. Two months later, he took his show on the road to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and continues to work tirelessly to keep his music in films. His rich vocals, crossover productions, and commanding stage delivery earned him the 2012 Hollywood Rising Star Award. Soon after, he was nominated at The 2012 Chicago Music Awards as an Emerging Star. Five of his singles reigned on the top ten of Canada’s indy AMAHits music charts, where S’wet and Bottom of my Heart still hold two spots. Troy D earned recognition with PopChips for his single, Star. He won Chicago’s Star Spangled Sing-off, hosted by ESPN, was the Champion of Chicago's Road to Fame, and won the chance to perform the National Anthem for 25k Chicago White Sox fans where he showed off his sharp, richly textured vocals.
