Bio:
John Barrell has been living and playing in various bands in Alexandria, Louisiana since 1982. His latest musical project, TRANSITIONS, is a compilation of his various styles, influences and talents as a musician. John enjoys playing music both as a member of local rock band RELIX and creating music on the side as a solo artist. Along with being a strong vocalist his primary musical instruments of choice are Rhythm Guitar and 12-String but is also accomplished at the Bass and Lead guitar and some Ukulele, Indian Sitar and Egyptian Oud. About 2006 John began playing music with some local musicians and they formed the band RELIX. Since then they have developed a small but loyal following and keep very busy playing local venues every weekend and on occasion even two shows in the same day. As a group, they play mostly cover tunes but also write some of their own material. This experience ignited a new fire and passion within John and he began to write and record on his own with the blessings of his band brothers. One song, “Breaking Away” features the talents of the entire band. On many songs you will also find the talent of friends, family and fellow musicians. TRANSITIONS is a compilation of songs that have defined stages in John’s life as a musician. Some songs are over 30 years old, such as “Plastic Foxes” while others, such as “You & I” and “Every Little Thing” have been written more recently and reflect the relationship he has with his wife. One of the most unique aspects of the album TRANSITIONS is the fact that each song has a different feel and vibe to it. There is a musical style to meet everyone’s taste. Some songs are melodic ballads while others definitely fall into the head-banging, fist pumping area and the rest fall in-between to the more classic rock vein. TRANSITIONS is a musical journey of John’s life and growth as an artist. As you listen to the album, allow yourself to be swept along on the journey as well and enjoy the trip!

    Thanks John,

I'm an investor who promotes musicians, concerts, music festivals, live venues, and recently we decided to start an Indie label, AM Music. I'm reaching out via social media to let artists know how to make a living doing what you love.

There are so many talented musicians who don't have the knowledge or resources to be heard. We want to change that, and it involves more than just music and business practices. To learn more visit GwhoTube.

Have a great Mother's Day weekend!
    Peace ~ Gary
