I started playing the guitar at the age of 9 to the sounds of the Ventures doing a song called "Walk Don't Run". As the years went on I joined my first band which was Country called Dick Chamberlain and the New Country Way. It was just a local band in my home town of Endicott, New York. From there I got involved with a trio called "Hard Times" doing more Rockish style music. After that didn't pan out I moved to Houston,Texas and eventually to Austin,Texas. I was very influenced with the music at that time with Willy, Waylon and David Allen Coe. I was performing as a single act at that time playing music by the Eagles, Bob Dylan, Lightfoot, Dr.Hook, and many many more. Eventually moved to Sarasota, Florida where I played in any kind of club to make a living. From there, after hooking up with an agent, he booked me on a cruise ship out of Miami doing 3 and 4 day cruised to the Bahamas. Did that for 5 and a half years and got burned out of music and performing. I met my wife in Ft.Laurderdale, Fl and decided to get involve with a real job and settle down. That was 20 years ago. I started getting my itch back for playing when she bought me a brand new Fender Strat for Christmas 3 years ago. I purchased a Boss BR-900 Digital recorder and started writing and recording. The songs you hear on my web page are the result of that. If you would like to hear more of my material go to www.reverbnation.com/bobbyalan
