Born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, Grace Finnigan-Fox showed an affinity for music from an early age. As a kid, her idea of a good time was sitting next to the family stereo and singing along to Aretha’s Gold and Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Songbook for hours on end, to the great dismay of her parents. Her hobby soon grew into a full-blown passion, and she moved away from the stereo and over to the piano where she started to compose and sing her own songs. This lead her to the 2006 Grammy Camp, where she and a small number of other incredibly talented young musicians were given the chance to collaborate, record, and learn about the music industry. In 2007 she graduated from high school and jetted off to Boston, eager to dig in at the Berklee College of Music. There, she discovered the highs and lows of being a musician. From performing as a guest vocalist at the famed Iridium Jazz Club with music behemoths such as Victor Bailey, Gil Goldstein and T.M. Stevens, to performing to an audience of five…all of whom were in the band slotted to go on after her, she learned the ebbs and flows of the industry during her collegiate years. Unfortunately, an education from the best of the best at Berklee does not come free, so Grace busted her butt and graduated a year early in 2010. Because she’s a big believer in the phrase “go big or go home”, Grace packed up her charts and her keyboard and headed off to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a singer, songwriter, and performer. She is currently working on developing and promoting her music, which can only be described as “new-school soul”—a sexy blend of old soul instrumentation and vocals with contemporary lyrics and a frisky, fresh attitude.
