Mark Briggs was born in Warren, Ohio on November 17th 1959. Mark was interested in music at a young age. Mark’s mother encouraged him to play music, she loved rock and roll. During the 1960’s Mark listened to a lot of pop music brought in the house by his sisters. In the 70’s Mark started playing drums and guitar. Mark’s love for music and music creation found an outlet in the high school band and Jazz band. During his senior year at school Mark wrote a piece of music and with the encouragement and support of Mr. Bernie Edenfield ( the band instructor) Mark conducted the piece at the spring concert in 1978. During the 1980’s Mark was with The Woodie Harris Show, a local band. Woodie incorporated Mark’s songs “Modern World” and “You made me fall in love again” into his shows. During the 90’s Mark played with Cruise Control and Breakaway. Breakaway recorded several of Mark’s songs, but were not released until 2005 when Circle H Records picked up “Last night I had a dream” after Mark finished the song overdubbing the original recordings made several years earlier. In 2006 Mark once again appeared with Madam Weez in the duo Psych. During much of the 2nd half of the decade Mark took time off from music when Madam Weez approached him about producing her new CD. Mystic Blues took nearly 3 years to finish due to the fact they were 1,000 miles apart. Mark dusted himself off and worked hard on the CD, he wrote one of the songs and with help from blues men Tommy McCoy, Roger Hatfield and Jerry Ross contributed songs for the album. Now days Mark attends many open mics in the Saint Augustine Florida area doing covers as well as a few of his own songs. Mark is also doing solo gigs in the greater Saint Augustine area.
