Born into ministry at a young age, Lauren Moscato was blessed to be raised in a Christian home as a traveling pastor’s daughter. She began singing and playing the piano in church at the age of 3. Being exposed to various people and experiences on stage, Lauren was called as a worship leader and aspiring singer/songwriter for people of all ages. She is twenty-one years old living to glorify God in every aspect of her life as a sacrifice before Him.
Originally from Syracuse, New York, Moscato is a music business student at the University of Memphis. She began taking classical and jazz voice lessons at the age of 13 when her musical journey took an alternative turn when she wrote her first song titled, “The Song of the Redeemed.” “When I write songs, I write with meaningful lyrics that are meant to be felt and heard through life lessons and experiences influenced from God," she reveals. Moscato does her best to make her musical message connect with every kind of music lover.
Lauren considers herself to be well rounded with poetic richness and melodically driven tunes. With the powerhouse nuances of Sara Bareilles and the vulnerability of singer/songwriter Kari Jobe, Moscato offers piano driven melodies and scripture-based lyrics. She fills her life with music in any way she can whether it’s performing at a local coffee shop, performing with the University Singers, or singing in the University of Memphis Jazz ensemble, With the management of her artists Mara Daniele, and The Experience, Moscato goes beyond being just a fan of music. She has worked several live event concerts and can offer artists the public press materials they need.
She has performed at many venues including a Showcase in Nashville for Band With A Mission, The Memphis Delta Fair 2012 and 2013, Memphis Hard Rock Cafe, The New Daisy, and various fundraisers for sororities and fraternities as a member of the Kappa Delta chapter at the University of Memphis. With minimal accompaniment, she uses her lyrics and voice to capture audiences on a personal level.
Lauren has received several awards including Best Female Contemporary Christian artist, and Songwriter of the year for the Indie Music Channel. Along with traveling between Memphis and Nashville for her upcoming EP, she has the opportunity to record for free at Capitol Records in Los Angeles, California in the summer. Lauren thanks God, her family, Christopher Ewing, Indie Music Channel, and her fans for being such a huge support in her musical journey and accomplishments on the Indie Music Channel.
As she finds herself in the rise of the Memphis music scene, she hopes to continue to convey her message of a well-rounded pop, contemporary Christian artist.
