Bio:: A seasoned bassist, songwriter and instrument designer, Jay has been blessed to share the stage with a few up and coming and well known artists.
Growing up in church, and being a steward of God's good works, Jay Jay continues to be instrumental in music ministry.

Crafting bass lines and functioning as a timekeeper in the bass’ traditional role, Jay also possesses a sense of lyricism and melody gained from his bass heroes Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorious and others, including non-bass players like Miles Davis and John Coltrane.

The opportunity to play melody and to propel the bass guitar to the front of the concert stage came to fruition when Jay Armed with a Conklin 7-string bass guitar, participated in a showcase for a Hip-Hop talk show and only a drummer showed up. Jay began to play guitar like riffs in between slap-bass lines, while drummer Mbaya Cotton laid down the beat.

Ever seeking new challenges, Jay formed his group “j2” featuring the bass as a lead instrument and some of the most creative musicians playing a blend of traditional Jazz, R&B and Hip-Hop.
