Bio:
This 18 year old Composer/Arranger, piano prodigy, raised in a musical environment, discovered his creative talents by way of songwriting, piano playing, singing, and composing utilizing today’s technology. Dylan was influenced by many mentors in the film scoring industry that helped carve the way to his dreams. At age 14, Dylan was inspired by the opportunity to score a short film for a student project at Chapman University, which led to a few more to follow. To date, not only has Dylan created a vibrant fan base from his acoustic solo performances, but he has also gained audience appreciation from other musical configurations. As an innovator of today’s technologies, he finds himself at home immersed in the different realms of music, from playing the baby grand to using Protools 10 for hours at a time. Dylan’s efforts afforded him to ghost write cues for Comedy Central’s South Park, Disney’s Pair of Kings, and SyFy’s Jersey Shore Shark Attack and is a proud member of BMI Music. Dylan is now the youngest member of the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers. “It’s an honor to be presented to these communities that are highly regarded in this industry and I look forward to discovering how it all plays out,” Dunlap says. Rolling Stone authored an unsolicited review regarding Dylan’s rendition of Linkin Park’s “Burn it Down” and gave him an honorable rating. Director Zev Vel commissioned Dylan to score the short film, Symbol of Peace, which has been accepted in the Austin Film Festival, Woodstock Film Festival, Peace River Film Festival, and Moving Media Film Festival. Symbol of Peace sold out three screenings between the Austin Film Festival and Woodstock Film Festival. After entering Linkin Park’s “Lost in the Echo” remix contest, Dylan came in 8th place out of 1395 submissions with an Honorable Mention. He received a platinum plated 24K gold plaque commemorating his highly acclaimed remix. His first remix contest for Linkin Park a year and a half ago for “Catalyst” ranked him 19th place out of 2483 submissions. And he just entered for fun. Dylan was accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachussetts, and will be leaving his hometown of Studio City in late August of 2013. Due to the fact that he graduated high school earlier than most students, he has chosen his time wisely by expanding his library, writing different styles of compositions daily. “It’s difficult for me to step away from my recording studio sometimes… I just have to get that lingering idea out of my head until I’m fully satisfied with the finished product. I’m the craziest perfectionist there is, but I definitely look at it all positively. It brings me such joy to share my hard work with my family and friends,” says Dylan.

Dylan has recently discovered his calling for being an indie/folk singer/songwriter, and now has a 5 song EP available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify, entitled “The Looking Glass”. This astonishing young artist has recently released a brand new single entitled “We Will Grow”, which is now available for FREE DOWNLOAD on Dylan’s Facebook page!
