Geslaney Brito e Iara Assessú começaram sua parceria em eventos culturais diversos como festivais de música, semanas culturais e shows. Desde então celebram encontros em vários projetos culturais pelo país. Com a proposta de difundir a música independente, calçados no fazer música com um olhar artístico, rendeiro, brincante e ao mesmo tempo preocupados com o trato dos arranjos e da interpretação. Caminham juntos com essas vozes, cordas e tambores levando suas composições por um bom pedaço do Brasil. Muitas dessas canções, premiadas em vários festivais, integraram o CD Toré, idealizado e produzido por eles, lançado em 2007. Agora Geslaney e Iara partem para um novo trabalho: "De Tambores e Sementes" tem como objetivo a junção de elementos da cultura popular brasileira à música produzida no sudoeste baiano - influenciada pelas cantorias produzidas no polígono da seca, principalmente norte de Minas Gerais, utilizando-se de aspectos de varias manifestações culturais como o candombe, a capoeira, a folia de reis, os toques de caboclo, a ciranda, o boi de janeiro, o aboio entre outros. assim sendo "De Tambores e Sementes" vem carregado de "ritmos crioulos" que conduzem a folia do inicio ao fim. // Geslaney Brito and Iara Assessu have begun their partnership in several cultural events like music festivals, cultural weeks and shows. Ever since they have being celebrating meetings in many cultural projects by the country, with the propose to diffuse the independent music, fitted in performing music with an artistic eye, lacemaker, amusing, and at the same time worried with the arranges treatment and interpretation. They work together with those voices, strings and drums showing their compositions in a great part of Brazil. Many of those prize-winning songs in several festivals integrate the “Toré” CD that is idealized and produced by them: “By Drums and Seeds” (“De Tambores e Sementes”) has as goal the junction of elements of Brazilian popular culture with the produced music in Southwest Bahia that is influenced by the songfests produced in Brazilian dust bowl mainly in the north of Minas Gerais, using aspects of various cultural manifestations like Afro-Brazilian songs (candombe), the leg-wrestling (capoeira), Epiphany (folia de reis), the caboclo striking (toque de coboclo), clidren’s game (ciranda), the “boi de janeiro”, the mournful cowboy song (aboio), among others. This way “By Drums and Seeds” (“De Tambores e Sementes”) brings “Brazilian born negro rhythms” (rítmos crioulos) that command the frolic from the beginning till the end.
