Bio:

Pororoca translates to "the great destructive noise" in Tupi, and is the name of the longest wave on earth on the Amazon river. POROROCA! is also the name of the brand new critically acclaimed album from Sonic Surf City. After nearly 10 years of surf rockin' & beach boppin' Sonic Surf City took a break and went their separate ways. Meanwhile, the bands bikinisurftrashpop tunes took a life of it's own, and during the last decade, compilation albums have been released across the globe with an unexpected success, their songs have been covered by bands from Spain, Indonesia to Japan, their back catalouge are selling for ridiculous amounts on web auctions and a completely new surfasonic fanbase has emerged. During 2009-10 the band - Woodie - Hot Rod - TeeTee (now replaced by Charlie) and new guitarist Sweet Cheeks got back together again, and found themselves at home at Papa Bear's Killer Cobra Records, once again ready to take on the world and to accomplish the mission...two girls for every boy. The myth and the legend of "the worlds sharpest surf-trash-combo" Sonic Surf City lives on and will continue to do so... Cowabunga!
