Tyrone has been singing since the tender age of eight in church, school and community choirs.He began his musical journey In his school band & orchestra playing the drums as well as reading drum sheet music in the 4th, 5th, &6th grad@Charles Andrews Elemetary school in Syracuse NY. Inspired by his close friend Jon Turk, a child guitarist phenom from the age of 10 years, Tyrone listened, learned until he developed himself into a accomplished guitarist as well as a extremely solid vocalist. Through out Jr. & High school Tyrone enjoyed the life of a multi-talented musician as he was always in demand to play playing school dances, sit in, jam, as well as instruct other bands and musicians while still playin in his two permanent bands "The EMOTIONS OF SOUL" AND THE "TECHNIQUES OF SOUL" as well as being the back-up band ,for what was to be our processional tutelage with an very seasoned and musically demanding 5 person singing group known through out Syracuse as the RETREATS(the Scruggs Family). All bands comprised of both(Tyrone & Jon's)) schoolmates and other Life long music friends!! In his last year in high school ,Tyrone was picked up playing the guitar at summer camp when she was sixteen and has been amazing audience hired by the band "Bill Collick and the Arrangements", a collection of 30 ish seasoned musicians in need of a hot guitarist with strong vocals and experienced. A year later the band disbanded and after a year in college, Tyrone re-united with Bill Thompson and gathered ;Larry Freeman, Ed Hazel,the late Gerry Irons,Lorenzo Jackson, Darrol Jones, and created the band "ESSENCE". Once again ,with a solid cast of musicians ,vocalists, Tyrone and his band enjoyed being one of the hottest live big bands in upstate New York and has been amazing audiences with his talents ever since. His songs and style are inspired by men& women alike. Jazz,70s rock, doo-wop, Motown ,Funk(JB), Soul(Otis,,aretha,sam&dave,70s Big band,Ohio, Cameo, E.W.F.).
