Adam Anderholt, a man who lives each and every day playing music/writing music/ and most of all listening to music, has been classified by many professionals as a gifted musician. He feels the need to express himself to everyone so that his music would bring them the same amount of joy. www.reverbnation.com/adamanderholt
Born and raised in Holtville, a town of 6,000 people, out in the country, there wasn't a whole lot to do. At the age of 8, Adam went to the music store down the street from his dad's office, saw a guitar, and asked his dad to buy it for him. His dad, being an accomplished musician himself, had the idea of starting a band for the churches around the area. His older brother Louie played bass guitar, and little brother James played drums. This is when Adam first got the feel/enjoyment out of playing live music. When he got into middle school , he played guitar in the jazz band, and got introduced to the music of Jimi Hendrix (a cd Louie bought him worried Adam would follow the scene). Listening to Jimi Hendrix overwhelmed Adam at his songwriting, and most of all his guitar playing. When he got into high school, he started playing for the high school jazz band. Adam's older brother Louie became an outstanding keyboardist. By the time Adam was graduating from high school, Louie asked him if he would like to live in San Diego, while going college.
Adam started playing music at Louie's fraternity parties, and had a blast. He now got a job at Sea World, working with the kids. As soon as he turned 18 he applied for an audio visual technician, he got the job, and 2 months later, receieved the news about the new night time Shamu show (Shamu Rocks). This show needed a live guitar player to play Van Halen's "Eruption", and "You Really Got Me". Adam made the audition, and finally became a professional musician at the age of 18. It was a show that only played during the summer (this was the summer of 2007. So once the summer was over, the gig was over. Adam then got a job at the Westin Gaslamp as a door attendant on the weekends.
Adam went to a party with Louie, and met Bob Brown (an astounding bass/guitar player), and his brother Jason Brown (an astounding artist). We started a band, and didn't quite know how to get promoted. Now this is one of the things that led Adam to become a blues player. Because of his low income, his older brother had to kick him out. Although Adam and Louie got along pretty well, Louie couldn't afford to pay for 2 anymore. Adam had to move from couch to couch, with only his sleeping bag, and living out of boxes. It was a struggle each and every day, but Adam was determined no matter what the circumstance were. After a few months he decided to call home, to live back with his parents. There Adam got to see his little brother James playing in a band with the older jazz musicians, given the nick name "Funky J". After staying almost a year with his parents, he knew he couldn't live with them forever. So he did what he knew he had to do, enlist in the U.S. Army, now at the age of 21.
While in the Army, Adam met fellow Soldiers who were just as passionate/driven about music. Adam got to learn more guitar licks this way. Once Adam got to his first duty station (Ft. Huachuca, AZ), a SGT asked him if he knew how to play any instruments. He responded "Yes guitar", and the SGT invited him to his church (Sierra Vista 1st Church of God in Christ). Since September 2010, Adam has been dedicated to this church, and he says he can now feel the Holy Ghost in this church
