I grew up in the harsh ghettos of Eastlands in Kenya, in a place where only drugs and crime thrived, nevertheless I had my goals and I never let go of them.I knew I wanted to do music from a very early age and all that changed when I won my first award at the age of 13, despite the hardship that was there and the lack of funds, I never let go of my dream. I am leaving it right now, going to university and doing what I love best, positive music to uplift my fellow brothers and sisters out there who want to give up on their dreams. My first album we'll be out by August 2011 and I promise all my fans all over the world that it's going to shock them, it's a work of art people.Just watch this space. Ogwellah was born on 26th June 1991 in Nairobi, Kenya. In the east side part of Nairobi commonly known as “Eastlando” in the Kenyan slung. It was in this area where the heavy influence of Dancehall ragga and reggae first started to have a major impact on him. Being born in a neighborhood where only crime, gangs and drugs thrived, his parents were very strict on him, considering the type of neighborhood that they lived in.” Bangu downtown” as commonly known today was the city of Alcapones and still is but the big boys loved him and that friendship between the little Ogwellah then with the big boys worried his dad and mum, everything became serious when his cousin got shot dead, that prompted his dad to move the whole family to Langata, (L.G.T). Kraft primary school were either behind bars or dead, most of them had joined various gangs and tracing them again was tough him. The only friend he found from that lot was his childhood best friend Odhis, others were on the run or on police blacklists. He moved to Eastland where he joined Brainhouse academy in Kasarani, he thanks the school for the entertainment club that nurtured his talent by giving him the chance to perform in the school open days and closing days.
