Antonio Stewart, aka Mojo Mayne grew up in the streets of Augusta Georgia while hopping back and forth from Sioux City IA. The moment he held his first microphone in his hand, it was evident that he would one day spread his message of perseverance, and distinction through hip-hop music. This lifelong ambition was realized with the release of Street Voodoo, the artist’s new album distributed digitally through SONY RED. The artist himself describes Street Voodoo as an album that encapsulates the jubilee's of lifes experiences, the positive, the negative, the funny, and the sad. He also views the album in its entirety as a tribute to young people around the world who are chasing their dreams. He encourages steadfastness and self-determination, the artist says, “I didn’t get here because I am successful, I got here because I’m not afraid to fail. Never be afraid to fail, it is the key to success.” A couple of experiences crystalized and accelerated Mayne’s goal to finish Street Voodoo, and release it to the masses. Early in 2009 his aunt passed away due to being misdiagonsed with a tumor, and neglected care at the hospital from lack of insurance, and in late 2009 his sister was killed, and to this day the case remains open. While investigators toiled on the case, Mayne used this energy as a source of inspiration and motivation to finish his dream. Street Voodoo is this dream. Here begins the legacy of Mojo Mayne… sit back, he’s going to be here for a while.
