Bio:: Bastiaan Baaij, is an sincer guy who at the age of 5 got in contact with musical instruments. He father taught me to play guitar. But his musical hunger for more was founded when he saw the Booklet of the LP box Tubular Bells (1974). The same year he was born, how great is that. When he looked at the photo's and saw mister Mike Oldfield with all his instruments and read that he played them all by him self. The link was made,....Bastiaan said to him self: "When I grow up I want to know how to play every instrument there is on this earth. Well don't you love it when a kid has such huge dreams ;-) But in the mean time he did what he promised himself. Every instrument he could lay his hands on or came to him was bound to be mastered in one way or an other (and he still continues in doing just that) Now he plays 8 instruments and teaches 5. He played in a lot of different bands, venues but never hit the big stage. And is because he did know how to use the power of joined force with help of other people. He was only bussy trying to prove himself that he could do it on his own.,..and that is hard and lonely road. Well in 2006 he started his own Individual compagny called DMDP Music. With DMDP Music he was teaching his instruments (guitar - acoustic/electric, bluesharp/chromatic harp, saxofoon, voice, djembe) and gave sing&songwriting lessons. Taught a lot at different schools and composed his own work. People young and old were and are still very fond and willing to take lessons from Bastiaan. And is because treads every person as a special human being. Knowing that every body has the power and privilege to achieve what he or she wants to achive. And in his case he stades that everyone has the ability to learn how to play an instrument he or she desires. Because it is the combining knowledge of teacher and student that make one to know how to learn and play. Bastiaan has always been surrounded by spiritual events and in the early 2007 he began to experience a huge change in experiencing his own way of making music. And also his quality to transient his knowledge to others who wanted to learn as much as he did. The new instruments like Didgeridoo and Native American Flute and Taonga Puoro made their appearance. He played the didgeridoo for a long time and performed a lot. But never got the feeling that he should transient this instrument to others. In 2008 he stated with a Co partner a didgeridooschool. And taught in the years hunderds of people and got the priviledge to be taught by the world biggest Yunglu people (aboriginal people). In august 2010 he and his wife Piia Maria Pekkanen became partents of a beautiful daughter Aino Maria Baaij and moved in with his wife to The Hague. Left the school to his Co partner and started his own business from scratches. Now a new chapter arrived, to put all his experiences from the past years into practice to finaly achief his main goal. To make music, to travel and perform and letting other people feel the warmth and pureness of his music. In 2009 he becan to actively be a practioner of the Nicheren Buddhism and starting to achieving his goals. Now he understands more and more his task on this planet. It is to use his gifts in making music to spread out the seads of Kosenrufu. His goal is to travel with his music in his Buddha perspective to send out Kosenrufu. What actualy means, the enlightment of world peace but then stating from the innerside of a human being itself. To be aware of our constant choices we have to create happiness or sadness in your constantly dynamic life of cause and effect!. And how to stay focused and also to be strong that even in hard times or difficult situations and other challenges we have to face the happiness can be revealed in ones actions. And to know that enlightment is not magical word or stage you only can enter when you have suffert enough. No, whith the power of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo the instant Buddha in your self light up and gives the oppurtunity to create happiness. Though it is no magic word and you have to stay focused and work hard to stay in balance. The result of all this is his first CD, called Spinning Globes, for my friends. Finally created with the help of a lot of friends. So he learned after al, is'n that great! A cd were he take you on a musical and magical journey from live state of birth to death and in the end to rebirth. All tracks (except two) are recorded with 6 microfoons to create a sound so pure and raw that it is as if he stands with you in the room. Bastiaan wanted no polished slick tracks. But had the courage to show himself and his instruments as naked and pure as he could. On the 12 of May the cd will be deliverd fress from the press and finaly can be sold though out internet and music store. Thought he finally understands it, this is merealy the beginnen of a long new journey in creating more music for more people in all parts of the world.
