After a Solo Artist on the hunt for musicians, and members of a local band looking for a new project Northern Torch Was Formed in early august 2010, Orginating from leeds, england, After getting into the final 60 outta 10.000 competitors of the Live and Unsigned Competition and playing in venues like Sheffield city hall, and The Willows Centre, Manchester, to name a few, Brett Lee and his manager Shirley Leeks, decided it was time to bolster the song writing and solo music by putting a band together, After Searching around for session musicians and having no luck, Band Members of a local band Stef (bass) and Tom(guitar) joined the band!! they had played gigs at Hi-Fi Club, The Cockpit, Elbow Room, The Box, etc and were up for the challenge of working on a new project, Stef also works as a sound engineer with Ken at The Box, who was more then up for the challenge and was keen to play drums in the band, After a Few Jams .. the rest is History in the making!!! members Brett Lee (keys, vocals) Tom Grant (guitar) Stefan Wisniewski ( bass ) Ken Bebb (Drums) blend a mixture of vibrant piano, sweet guitar licks co-insiding with strong vocals, which produces a unique indie pop sound. Guy harris (real radio) - Amazing Unique Sound and feel, Northern Torch are a very very new band but an exciting one. They bring a little emo pop-rock to the line-up and seem to have a real gift for writing a catchy chorus. There are hooks galore here and pretty accomplished song writing in a similar vein to Lost Prophets or every fifteen year olds new favourite band Young guns. At times it gets a little whiny but there is definitely a lot to like here. - leeds music scene
