Carol Ann Brevard has always forged her own pathway, especially with her music. Having shared such leading stages as New York’s Blue Note, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Miami’s Jazz in the Gardens, New York’s Bitter End, Symphony Hall and the Apollo Theater, has not intimidated her from lending her voice to background studio work and underground hip-hop artist such as Lords of the Underground, Sah B and Joe Bananas. Once this naturally talented singer/songwriter sets her mind on music, there is a spontaneous combustion of creative sparks that starts to fly in every direction.
A New Jersey native, she studied chemistry at Hampton University and soon discovered that the chemistry between her voice and writing was where her true passion was so she soon shifted gears, changed lanes and headed down a musical road.
After getting a multitude of valuable hands-on experience, Carol Ann decided it was time to record her own project. “Greatness” was received with open arms and critical acclaim. Songs like May December; a Latin-vibe, masterfully crafted musical tale of forbidden fervor and Possession, which speaks to an insatiable longing to be with a lover, opened a pathway of unbridled passion and have drawn fans into her musical spell as they anxiously wait to know more about this young lady who openly shares her lifetime love of song in the stunning lineage of music.
Carol Ann's soulful sultry sound, along with her attention-grabbing lyrics, earned her a 2017 Independent Music Award nomination for Best Song R&B/Soul for her single "How Dare You".
