Like many kids, my father bought me my first guitar during the Summer vacation in Spain. Up to then, I had been born and bred on classical music mainly -Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovski...but I had that friend of mine whose parents owned a music shop in town and I would spend most of my free time in a little flat above the shop and would listen to all the new things on the market. Until one day I came across Beatles and especially Macca's music and I got hooked like many others (!!) because it reminded me of the music I would sing in the school choir, except that it was the perkier electrified version of it, sort of...except that from then on, I started writng my own songs. I had my band in the late eighties called The Medicine Men, slightly more heavy metal, though. Right after that, I wrote some songs for British singer Beverly Dean, here in Brussels, but she was pretty soon dismissed by producer Ian D'Haese (Lio, Lou and The Hollywood Bananas...)because he said he didn't like her voice (!!). And that's how I turned out to be an English teacher. Today, I've returned to my first love, songwriting with my friend Jacques PESENTI, an extremely sensitive, talented and appreciated musician - with whom I collaborated on EARLY DAYS. Marjorie is another super nice friend who was so kind to help me out with the duet on My Lover My Friend. If you're reading this, my friends, I want to thank you once again. I hope you'll have as much pleasure listening to this as we had realizing it...and why not tell your friends about it...and should you know a producer, share a word with him or her about it!! cheers!!
