- Barnaby Tremayne was born sometime in the 1980’s (he refuses to share his personal information including his middle name, age or birthplace for personal privacy.)
Barnaby Tremayne grew up listening to whatever music he could find, spending hours listening to the radio and his parents’ old tapes. He fell in love with The Smiths after hearing Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now on the radio aged 5 and begging his grandfather to buy it for him.
Barnaby started writing songs when he bought his first guitar aged 17. He was heavily influenced by The Beatles and The Smiths but says he is influenced by whatever he is listening to at the time.
Barnaby first started recording material in 2002 on a borrowed 4-track recorder and has since recorded demos on tape recorders, phones and “anything cheap that records sound.”
The “Bletchley” album was written in 2006 but not recorded until 2010 due to personal illness, but in this time Barnaby recorded a number of EP’s including “Songs For Cerice”, “Salad Days” and “Songs For Toni” and the album “Broken Biro”
Broken Biro was recorded in 2009. There are two different versions, the released version and a lost earlier version. Broken Biro was posted online in 2009.
New album Bletchley is available now.
Barnaby is currently working on a collaboration with a street artist/musician called Wolfie.
Barnaby is currently part of a comedy duo with stand up comedian Kryssi Keightley.
