More than just the name of a recording label and studio, Shoe City Sound is the creative home of Dolores Paradise and DJ Julio. They started out as vanguard in the Boston New Wave scene in the 1980’s, and were recognized for having highlighted the more artful and atmospheric aspects of that genre. Citing influences such as Impressionism, Motown, Euro Pop, World, and modern Chill-Out/downtempo electronica they are ever inventive and seeking out new space. Having previously released 3 cd's as The Power of Suggestion, and 1 solo cd by Dolores Paradise, they are now organizing all creative projects (cd, video, soundtrack) as productions of Shoe City Sound. Dolores Paradise and DJ Julio are creating music for a new century, and a world without barriers. Sonically rich and relevant, this music reminds us that beauty and truth still exist in an era which sorely lacks both.
