Qweci, born October 1984 and formerly known as Ded Buddy is the world’s newest rising talent in the world of dance and pop culture. Growing up as a child, his home country Ghana has opened up a very diverse culture with enriched taste for sound; apparent from the notes of the songs that he creates. Qweci’s musical influences do not only included the likes of Michael Jackson, Enya, Lionel Richie amongst many more, but also Stevie Wonder who Qweci opened for back in 1994 at Panafest. High Life, traditional Ghanaian music was for a very long time of soaring influence into the artist that he is today. Qweci has always had enormous love for music. From church visits with his mother together with some confident, he started performing at the age of 6. It started with an “Inter Collegiate contest” that he scooped up with a performance of Boyz II Men hit single “I’ll make love to you” in a Ghanaian translation. Soon after that Ded Buddy (Qweci’s stage name at the time) was Ghana’s big hit. From being the main artist for Pageant “Miss Ghana 1998” to touring around all over Africa; during his days with the rap group Native Funk Lords. Qweci has had the honor to perform for and make thousands of fans. When he finally ventured into America to pursue his musical career, fans still followed. Qweci has today embarked on a world pop music translated road, together with collaborations from rap artists and personal close friend Fresh, the new Dance influenced EP is a must have. It is scheduled to be released over Thanksgiving weekend. His remix of Eminem’s “I’m not Afraid” was released on youtube, with a great feedback from existing and new fans. This Dance EP is to introduce his new direction in his music career, to let his fan base be introduced to his new passion and to also introduce new fans to the new and enhanced Qweci. His goal is to reach to the entire world, and create that feel good world peace music that everyone one can relate and sing along to
