one day the king of a land called “america” was bored. He had reached an old age and found himself gazing out of the mirror of his princely palace called “the white house”. his heart was troubled and so he summoned his counselor to give him wise, uh, counsel. Because that’s what counselors do. anyway. the troubled king asked his counselor: “for nearly a decade I have lived in this white house. tell me my wise counselor, is there no other house than this white house? for i have heard of a The Green House where living things flourish. surely there are other homes painted with other princely colors. it is time
I spread my wings and leave home in search of new homes and new colors.” so the king
of the white house set sail to uncharted lands. indeed he did find new homes
with amazing new colors. some orange. some pink. some blue. he even found some made of
straw, sticks...and some made of bricks. but the home that really caught his eye
was the one painted black. he visited this home and could hear from outside
the sound of music. “lo, do my ears deceive me?” he asked. without knocking
he entered the home and found three young men, doing a jam session.
“Incredible! never have my ears trembled so.” said the king. “i command
you to come to my white house and bring this black music with you.”
“that’s cool.” said one of the band members. And so they went to the
white house and jammed and then they got a record deal and left. but to
this day the king remembered them, not as the fiends who trashed the
white house and didn’t clean after themselves, but as the three
mysterious boys known only as
tri...pod...black.
