- BARRIOACTIVO is made up of 4 guys that drive to keep the traditional rhythm of Cuban music alive, while fusing it with other genres to create something new and unheard of. Their music is a combination of Son, Guaracha, Rumba and Chachacha with today's Rock, Funk,Ska and Reggae. The music quartet was formed in January of 2007, and since then has performed in several Miami clubs. They are now presently in the process of creating their second album which promising to be their best effort so far!!! The trio consists of the following: Guido Milian on the bass. He is a native born from Camaguey, Cuba. His musical skill comes as a natural born talent. Upon his third year of medical school in Cuba, he decided to leave the island to look for new horizons. He is a photographer and also composes his own music. After playing in several bands, he decided to join forces with Eugene to create what is now BarrioActivo. Armando Arce also known as Pututi, is the drummer and percussionist. He is from Santa Clara in Cuba, a province well known for their talented musicians. He graduate from their prestigious Vocacional School of Art, and has worked with quite a few famous musicians, such as Pablo FG y su Elite, Manolin el Medico de la Salsa, and Habana Abierta. He currently resides in Miami, Florida. Carlos Huerta, trumpet player from Ciego de Avila. Graduated with honors from the famous Vocational School of Art in Cuba. Since his graduation Carlos has been one of the most sough after trumpet players in the Miami scene and has been playing for important musicians like Fito Paez and Diego Torrez in international venues. The first time he heard the music of BarrioActivo nothing could stop him from being one of their active musicians. Lastly, on lead guitar and vocals is Eugenio Rodriguez. He is native born from Habana, Cuba. There he studied French language and literature at the University of La Habana, and graduated in 1991 . He won the Cuban National Award for Poetry in 1995, entitled "David". He took part in various alternative rock bands in Cuba and Mexico, but moreover he is the writer and composer of Barrioactivo's songs. He has resided in Miami, Florida since 2002.
