Bio:: BIO - 2010 Sparks become fire. Fire becomes life. Life becomes purpose! RUINATION, a band who has repeatedly crashed and burned, has incessantly been counted out and left for dead through several member changes… still breath. They breath life into a rejuvenated underground metal scene, once thought dying throughout the state of NY. They breath life through a common bond with their fans, friends and bands of brothers throughout the scene… they speak volumes while rising from the ashes… heavier… stronger… more determined than before. You can’t kill us. You can’t steal the air from our lungs… it all just feeds our fire. We are audio terrorists… our goal to destroy your cliché’s about how music is categorized, classified and easily referenced. We live and die by the riff and the rhythm section … Sharp, precise drum beats that hammer the meaty bass lines into place behind the thick, explosive guitars, all layered by intelligent lyrics and diverse vocal techniques. We merge the west coast metal scene with the east coast hardcore movement, and get something scarred and stitched together with layers upon layers of old and new school musical influences. It’s nothing you can put a finger on right away… Newly acquired lyrical terrorist Ryan Miller is the shriek messiah… driving you directly into the eye of the brutal hurricane when the band takes the stage. He leads the crowd through a maelstrom of pain and power, while drummer Jay Stevens and bassist Josh Skellett lay the intense and precise groundwork with roaring bass lines and thunderous drum patterns, finished off with a tonal assault of sick riffage and tasteful leads hammered out by guitarist and RUINATION founder Darrek. For that 40 minutes the band is on stage they become a unit. They become an entity. They become… a monster. It’s been Ruination’s honor to share the stage with some of their favorite bands both on the National and Regional stage, including; Biohazard, Seemless, Mower, Ankla, 36 Crazyfists, Dog fashion Disco and our blood brothers on the scene like; Elevator Death Squad, Ledyard, Lethal Dose, Bone Jar, Caustic, Dropclutch, Crows Cage and more… its what it’s all about in the end to us; chilling with our friends and close family while rocking the hut night after night throughout NY and beyond! We have brushed all of the old aside. The cowards are gone. The disloyal have been exposed. This is a new version of RUINATION. Version 3.0. We delved deep into our music, and ourselves and decided to up our own ante. We have recently released the bands first ever full length “Slaughter is the Best Weapon” on Sikfuj Musick Records in the spring of 2010, recorded by Loren LJ at Nerol Studio’s in Auburn, NY and mastered at Subcat Studios. Already the long awaited album has gotten rave reviews… and critics notice the bands metamorphosis. The masks are off… the clowns are gone!
