Hip hop inspired artist, J-day born Jemeris Payton, is from a town deep down south in Central Mississippi. The 23 year old artist has always loved to make music and poetry as long as he could remember. In 2009, the artist plan to follow his dream was hindered slightly when his National Guard unit was deployed to Iraq. However, the deployment only made him realize that it was time to really get seriously involved in music. So in his off time using only a laptop and a headset mic, he dropped hits that gained major recognition on the base resulting in hosting talent shows base wide. Currently, J-day is working on a mix tape A Way of Life and is sending EPK (electronic press kits) to several major labels. He is also presiding as the SO Fly Entertainment head of operations. It is a group founded by a group of inspiring artists that does local events like parties and other arrangements for everyone to enjoy. As of now, it has 100 active members and a host of supportive followers. Destined to bring the light on Mississippi where a lot of talented artist don’t get the chance the shine, he is really focused on his plan to succeed as an artist. Making hit tracks is just one of several things he has in store for his career in music. He also plans to obtain a degree in Music Production but is currently enrolled in College as a Business Marketing major. With a passion for music and a well understanding of business, this youngster is labeled as SUCCESS.
