Kamau, host of the This is Providence showcases, started off with weekly editions of sci-fi shorts in middle school, the comedic renditions of high school tragedies in the school newspaper, and graduated to collegiate and professional short fiction, poetry, and theater. Through it all, he was songwriting -- including the punk stylings of Dain Bramage and Cankersaur, as well as the blues-rock of the Revolutions Suns, and the most recent acoustic rock solo incarnation (Kamau). It's no wonder he has an ear for a good story, lyrics that spin you around when you least expect it, a solid sense of rhythm, and songs that have been called full of emotion and "pop but personal."
