LADY PJ was born Philessa Nicole Hooks to Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt and Lucy Hooks in Mobile, Al. She started writing poetry while going through an unhealthy marriage, at first just to vent. One day out of no where She met up with some old friends that played instruments and the only instrument she could play was her voice; that eventually lead to her song writing. Her music is a creation of the hard times that she's gone through in her life; being molested as a child at five, being raped in the military in her early twenties, going through a very messy divorce, and recovering from a mental break down in her early thirties. Her music is her way out of the darkness and the only way she knows how to work through the pain. Her motto is "to never give up because the road ahead always changes." I don't know how to quit. I only know how to keep going.

I just want to state that I'm not gay; although I do respect other peoples rights to live the life that they choose. I like men. But I do have friends that are gay and I have nothing against gay people. I'm more accepting of people being themselves.
