Laura MacLean began her music career as a voice. Classically trained, Laura’s vocal talent has brought her around the world, performing European pop, to jazz in Japan, to her own material in New Zealand, the U.K. and here in the US. “Does She Know”, "Prescription For Pain" and "When To Let It Go" had airplay on indie radio stations across New Zealand. MacLean toured the country, opening for New Zealand icon, Midge Marsden. Since then, her EP has been supported by New England radio stations WFNX, and 92.5 The River, KUMU Lite Honolulu, BBC Radio in London, several college radio stations, and podcasts in the US and in the U.K. Laura performs with her band, ‘The Elements of Swank’ regularly in New York, and abroad. She has opened for such names as Tom Rush, Aimee Mann, worked with Paula Abdul, and Abbey Lincoln. Her debut CD, “If The Shoe Fits, Wear It OUT” is currently available for purchase and downloads at iTunes, Rhapsody music, Amazon.com and many other internet distributors. Laura’s next album, “Strange Confessions” has been heralded by ‘Fractured Atlas Group’, a nonprofit organization for the arts, and is set to be completed in the summer of 2011.
