Lil City ’Music is a mind blowing fusion of Hip-Hop, Pop, R&B, Soul, Rap, and Alternative / India Rock. This is what fuels the fire that Lil’ City Music ignites. Producing all their own music through their production company (Lil’ City Productions); Lil’ City Music has a passion for the art of sound and a genuine love for music.
Lil’ City is relentless in their approach to both music and business. They believe in creating a product that their fans will enjoy the 1st and 100th listen. Musically, they combine their talents with sometimes deep, sometimes fun, and often socially aware lyrics that seem to create catchy hooks and beautiful melodies. Lil City Music was founded by Les Holmes (writer, producer, arranger and performer), who was mentored by, and just recently adopted the world-class talents of Donnie Lyle (musician, writer, producer, and arranger.) Collectively, Les Holmes and Donnie Lyle have worked with, rubbed elbows, and, or performed on the same stages as some industry greats such as: Michael Jackson, Jay. Z, Mariah Carey, The Dream, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, B2k, The Temptations, Britney Spears, Ron Isley, Nick Canon, Charlie Wilson, Usher, Tamia, Mary. J. Bilge, Diddy, 112, Faith Evans, The P**** Cat Dolls, and the list goes on! Also, collectively, they’ve landed themselves performances on television shows such as “The Jimmie Kimmel Live Show”, “The David Letterman Show”, “The Jay Leno Show”, and Canada’s own, Rogers Reality Show, “Roger’s Garage”.) For the past 14 years while Les Holmes was working masterfully at perfecting his craft and developing his own creative skills, Donnie Lyle, who was always just a phone call away, was working first hand at “The Chocolate Factory” in Chicago under the iconic king of R&B musician R. Kelly. He is still currently R. Kelly’s studio manager as well as the musical director for R. Kelly’s tour band.
