- Marilyns was born in 2006 driven by the influence of bands like The Runaways, Hole and Garbage. After a year, the band splited up to reunite back in 2010 with a new lineup and new influences, but still writing in english and holding to the initial idea of a female rock band.
After shortening the name in MRLNS (though is still pronunced "Marilyns"), the band is finally formed by: Candela Arraigada (vocals) and Julieta de Cicco on guitar, Ayelén Peralta on bass, Valentina Dorzi on drums and Cecilia Sosa on synth.
The bands being heard in this phase will be Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Stereophonics, Muse, Band of Skulls, Kings of Leon, The Raveonettes, Foo Fighters. So compositions will have a darker sound with more personal lyrics.
