Bio:
She is an awake-walking daydreamer, a blurry contrast of multiple styles, an illusionist of the vivid pastel sound, a contemporary traditionalist, and a reflection of the modern crossover cultures. The grooving, flourishing and atmospheric electronica where east meets west in a quirky way: it´s SIENNÁ. This Norway-based artist from ancient Kyoto Japan, composes to tell a dream-like story, plays the synthesizers by ear, sings her heart out, and approaches you with plenty of fire in her belly. She has been compared to the likeness of Underworld, Björk, Eat Static, Robert Miles and Ryuichi Sakamoto. However, everything does not fall into only one place in her world. Her sound preference ranges from freestyle electronica, house, alternative, nujazz, ambient, classical to Japanese traditional music. She re-shapes them effortlessly into an intelligent fusion of dreamy electronic soundscapes on the clubbing beats with some odd oriental twists and cut-ups. Since her debut in 2005, she has released 3 CDs and gained underground status due to her original approach to the modern electronica genre. Her live performance is accompanied by Norwegian band consisting of Kristian Wentzel (key.) and Hallvard Gaardløs (bass) with musical backgrounds from funk, blues, rock to jazz and pop. So far, they´ve created the alternative dancefloor for cool boozers, non-boozers, party-goers, dancing clubbers, drop-in-listeners, tourists and their fans in the U.K., Poland, Japan and Norway. Their audience tends to love dynamics of the unique combination.
