- The Rusty Thomas Band began when long time friends Rusty Thomas and Matt Rollins began passing demos back and forth in the fall of 2010. Although they were both experienced musicians and songwriters they had never before worked together as their musical interests were vastly different- Rusty coming from a country background and Matt from a straight ahead rock and roll background.
As they began to work on each other's material, these new songs began shaping up to be a project worth pursuing and the duo decided to demo the material in a proper studio. Local Atlanta guitarist Jon Harris (The Sundogs, Jon Harris and the Sinhounds) was called in to handle guitar duties and by the end of those first sessions it was apparent that they were on to something great. After those initial sessions, it was decided that a full album should be released and the Rusty Thomas Band was born. Mixing southern rock, classic country, and bluegrass, RTB brings a unique, southern sound you won't hear anywhere else.
