Whether opening for another artist, or headlining his own performances, Independent Country Music Artist Matt VanFossen thrives on connecting with the crowd through powerful vocals and hard-hitting songs that have them dancing in the aisles. His first album, Any Road Will Get You There, was released in 2009 and produced his first radio hit single “Time Ain’t What It Used To Be”, which became one of the top played country songs on 98.7FM WOVK for that year. Then in 2012, his album I Didn’t Come Here To Lose was released and garnered rave reviews. Two singles from this album would break into the Top 100 Mediabase charts - “Almost Stopped Dreaming” and “This Time Around”. This would help catapult Matt’s career, and he was invited to join the Main Stage Line Up at Jamboree In The Hills for the first time in 2013.
Later that same year, Matt headed back into the studio to work on his third album, BOOM, which was released in early 2014. Matt released his next album, BOOM. The title track garnered even more widespread radio airplay, and won smackdown contests 3 weeks in a row, beating out artists including Dolly Parton, Colt Ford, and Jana Kramer.
In 2016, Matt spent time in Nashville performing at various venues, and had the opportunity to record his single “Where You Gonna Run To” with Sherrie Austin, and had the opportunity to headline Town and Country Days in New Martinsville, WV in front of a packed house. He also released his first live album, A Matt VanFossen Christmas – Live at The Strand later that year.
After the whirlwind that was his music career for a few years, Matt decided to step back and pursue another important goal – obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Matt met this goal, and now he is ready to get back to where he belongs... on stage singing the songs he loves for the fans he adores.
Matt has had the opportunity to share the stage in support of many talented artists including Neal McCoy, Tim McGraw, Brooks and Dunn, Miranda Lambert and more. Whether he is performing in front of 5 people or 50 thousand people, one thing is for certain... Matt VanFossen is gives 110% to entertain and connect with his audience through the power of music.
