Rich, warm and emotive are a few words to describe the voice of one of Australia’s best kept vocal secrets, Nat Ripepi. Performing professionally across Australia, Europe and the UK for over fifteen years and nominated for several music industry awards, it is her long awaited second album ‘Piece by Piece’ released in late 2010 that will see her rise to new heights in 2011. Launching her career in 1995 at the Brass Monkey in Perth, Western Australia, Nat fast became known as one of the city’s top acoustic performers landing many high profile supporting performances including Pat Benatar, The Bangles, Ben Folds Five, Luka Bloom, The Waifs, Mark Seymour, James Morrison and many more. Her critically acclaimed debut CD ‘Universe’ was released in July 2000 and reached number three on the 78 Records Independent Charts and number four on the Mills Records Charts. It also gained national and international airplay on commercial and independent radio with the album described by many as beautiful, polished and intoxicating. Some reviews include X-Press Magazine stating that the album was ‘a stunning collection of skilfully crafted songs’ and ‘tidal wave of talent’. Ripepi’s second album ‘Piece by Piece’, released in November 2010, has also recieved rave reviews with Out In Perth Magazine calling her a “national treasure in the making”. Her songs ‘Stronger’ (from Universe) and ‘I Will Not Fall’ (from Piece by Piece) were nominated for West Australian Music Industry Song of the Year Awards.
