Bio:: Born in the quaint, beautiful town of Welshpool, Wales in 1992, Poppy Jones is adding to the tradition of gifted, strong-voiced, exasperatingly talented Welsh singers... (but she would never admit to such superlatives!)
Poppy is at once influenced by the Folk Acoustic, Jazz reminiscent likes of John Butler Trio & Zee Avi and the Soulful Magnificence of those like Aretha Franklin. In her music you will hear this influence. Her sound is an acoustic, jazz-honeyed, huge, guttural and quirky sound that goes far beyond her years.
Poppy had a propensity for singing early in life, putting on performances right in her school playground for money (Just kidding, she was a free giver of art).
At the age of 16, Poppy hit the wild, hopeful and bustling streets of Londontown in search of a life in Music!
In London, Poppy became friends with Marc Le Goff, French Guitarist and music-maker with whom she collaborated on her first songs.
With a Gigging history that includes venues like the Royal Albert Hall and Battersea Studios, Poppy is already sailing with confidence, hope and a whole bag of optimism!
