Sound of Reign is a dynamic trio with motor city roots and a style that is very much their own. Located just outside of Detroit, the band has been gaining fans for more than 15 years. Listen once to Sound of Reign and you'll be captured by their thought-provoking lyrics and a passionate use of melody which combines to leave their audiences always wanting more. These three friends enjoy making music together and it shows on their 2008 debut release "Breathe." Breathe is a breath of fresh air, taking the casual music listener on a wonderful journey of musical excellence. Their compelling message of faith and hope, and of a power and a love far greater than just music, rings through on each cut. Sound of Reign isn't looking to change the world through music, but instead to be a source of encouragement and strength in a world dying to know the truth.
Audiences in and around the Detroit area, both large and small, have to come to appreciate the music and message that is Sound of Reign. They have performed in a wide variety of settings from small coffee houses to large outdoor venues. No matter what the setting, Sound of Reign always connects with their audience. Sometimes it's with a loud guitar and a rocking back beat, while other times you'll be calmed by a smooth tone that allows you time to catch your breath.
Front man John Gutierrez says "What really drives our music and gives us our unique sound is the back beat style reminiscent of early Detroit created by our drummer Mark Gutierrez and bassist Ralf Patterson. These guys can play anything, and they do it well. Great musicians, a rockin sound, and a heart for God's people. I am blessed."
