Rickey Hayes-Shelton, known as D.Hayes, is about to release his first album, ‘Lost in Translation’ - much to the excitement of his sizeable army of fans, family, and friends. With the album expected to be a forthcoming of success and fame, the exciting, innovative sound that Hayes has made his own is certain to gain interest from across the world. D. Hayes’ musical journey began at the age of 3 in Dallas, Texas. It was here that he developed his musical tastes and interests, and discovered the calling God placed in his life – music. Hayes’ experimented with different genres and was profoundly influenced by artists Donny Hathaway and Luther Vandross. After realizing that making music was his main goal, D.Hayes began to showcase his talent in various venues across the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He opened for national Gospel recording artist, Fred Hammond, the legendary funk/soul band, The Commodores, and Rhythm & Blues artist, Mario. After claiming many titles and winning various talent competitions, D.Hayes went to Hollywood as a contestant on American Idol Season 5. Finally, after honing his unique sound over recent years, he is now preparing to release his original, debut album, ‘Lost in Translation’, which underlies the love, loss, sadness, anger, acceptance, and most importantly the forgiveness that is experienced in a relationship. D.Hayes’ album is a portrayal of his development as a person and a musician. It seems that the North Texas area is building an appreciation for his sound and talent, and his loyal army of friends and family are waiting eagerly to listen to the completed album.
