Skyline Sketch are an acoustic folk/ alternative band based in
South West London.
Made up of two young married couples, the group have been
making music together since 2006, although Russ & Joe have
been best friends since the age of 12. As such, the band have a
great rapport on-stage which flows through to the audience, and
they are as tight musically as they are as friends.
Their music focuses around poetic lyrics and four-part harmonies
to make your toes tingle! These are accompanied by acoustic
guitar, ukulele, piano, synths, organs and woodwind, with much
of the forthcoming album including fantastic arrangements for
string quartet.
Their debut EP ‘Stay Away Tomorrow’ was released in April 2011
and they band have had a flurry of gigs off of the back of this,
including the National Trust Green Day Out and the Bethnal
Green Working Men’s Club. They’ve also got some great
bookings lined up for the rest of 2011, including headlining at
The Masque, Liverpool with Cattle & Cane supporting, and a gig
at legendary venue The Bedford, renowned for being pivotal in
the careers of many artists including Paolo Nutini, KT Tunstall
and James Morrison.
Skyline Sketch’s fan base is growing daily and their unique music
has proven to appeal to all ages and sit well alongside current
popular indie bands such as Mumford & Sons and Elbow.
They are currently planning their UK tour for the release of their
album A Line From Me To You in November this year, with
independent record label OpenState.
