Bio:: Swiss Swagg is a team of 3 young, enterprising rappers/friends (Rollex

[19], Pluss [18] & C.J/ The M.A.B.o [18]) hailing from Liefde-en-Vrede

a neighbourhood informally referred to as L-en-V, a suburb south-bound

of Johannesburg. The 3 members that remain are the product of a

pastime turned passion.

The crew started out as a circle of 5 friends collaborating on songs;

the numbers rose to 7 shortly. Within two months of the new adventure

an addition to the team took it to 8 members and the growing potential

of the unit became more apparent with time. October 2009 saw the

making of the first song Swiss Swagg recorded titled That's Wassup and

every studio session since has borne witness to a bunch of amateur

pros develop into promising musicians. A.M.S Records has embraced the

talents of Swiss Swagg and is largely responsible for the moulding and

growth of what is now a formidable team.

Swiss Swagg has completed one studio project titled The Swiss

Inn-ovation which features collaborations with Fameboy Hydro, Momo

(vocalist), and Brainchild (of Producer's Playground) to name a few.

Their second studio project is an EP (Extended Play) titled Drinks &

Drive though they affirm in the Intro, "We are not condoning drinking

& driving/ The drinks for celebrating the hard work and the grinding/ The drive is for the motivation behind it..." - C.J/ The M.A.B.o,

furthermore, "Drinks, Drive, yeah, coming at you/ Hope you kids got

the drive but minus the booze" - Rollex.

The Swiss Inn-ovation features a medley of producers and offers more

in terms of variety whereas the production on second compilation

Drinks & Drive was almost single-handedly taken on by Blayze Deville,

a 17-year-old producer who was born and raised in Thokoza before

relocating to Rustenburg. Swiss Swagg is a group that accommodates a

fan base that stretches from tweens to young adults, with witty punch

lines with and a balance of substance in records like Part-Time

Lovers, Sleepless Nightzzz & The Team. Swiss Swagg uses international

benchmarks to measure their output level but more as a guideline,

haven been influenced by international Hip Hop.

The name Swiss Swagg was thought up by a high school mate and has no

underlying meaning but is rather easy on the ear which is the motive

behind the decision to run with the name. Swiss has since incorporated

elements of swag in their music, with a combination of show-boating

and a predominantly south-styled beat selection on Drinks & Drive.

The third project is likely to be their first studio album, titled

Sleepless Nightzzz.
