Bio:: Back in 1981 brothers Scott and Dez Carey along with neighbourhood friend Wan Birch formed teenage punk band The Abductors. Later on about 1987, Scott Carey formed rock band Wraith. Later still, Wan Birch along with Tony X (who was a friend known to Scott and Teresa some years before) formed 'electric rock' band Union X. A short while after the Union X split Wan got in touch with Dez and Scott after years of no contact to see if they wanted to get together again and start jammin'. It just so happened that Scott and his wife Teresa had been producing music of their own in their living room and so were keen to play with a full band and after a few stop starts they got together for some practice and enjoyed it! A few months later Wan brought in Tony and this was when the band really started generating their own distinctive sound; the sound of Scarey Sonshine. Both The Abductors and Union X crammed in many gigs in a short period, with The Abductors supporting bands like Solvent Abuse, Subhumans, Flux Of Pink Indians, The Fitts, Rubella Ballet and the like, whilst Union X supported Vibrators, Marya Roxx, New Generation Superstars, Pickups and Pitchforks, Kory Clarke, Godsized, Zodiac Mindwarp, Dogs D'Amour, Patchwork Grace and Menace to name but a few.The sound of Scarey Sonshine is more melodic than the music of their past, ringing out and carrying you along, the songs are more anthemic and the direction is sharply in focus leading you along a ringing, banging Christian flightpath! So we invite you all to get on board and enjoy the ride, in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen!
