Bio:
Klavar Biography. Walking down the corridor of the low-lit building as a dark rumble intensifies, slowly you feel the vibe the baseline drives through your body and then the sublime sound of the beat kicks in and fulfils your every desire to be rocked to the bone, The new sound of Klavar is here. This deep and dark sound has brewed to perfection in 10 long years of hard graft. Learning new ways and sound techniques, with no regard to rules, the sky is the limit for this genius duo. DARK AND DIRTY BASTARD BEATS is the first studio album by Klavar and has become the pinnacle of their sound for the future. This album conspires to make your heart pound out of your body as the cavity space it currently occupies just isn't enough to expand and contract to the dirty fat baselines and the perfectly timed accurate beats that just make your body feel like its never felt before. As it was noted before this sound has been the process of an evolution for the Klavar pair. We take you back to the start, The year is 1998 and two eager minded cousins discuss the finer points of the music of that time, both heavily into different styles of music. Both are currently huge fans of The Prodigy and this later plays a part in the way their music creation take hold. As time passes the pair are introduced to the amazing (for its time) Amiga 1200 with Octamed. This program (A Tracker) was 4 blocks of numbers that ran down the screen each number representing a specific sound or parameter. The pair learned the alien technology to be quite good with the system. DREAMIN' & AFTERMATH were the first albums ever created by the duo, Under the name Northern Erupture, Tony and Kevin were onto something, creating music from a computer what an amazing concept. The pair went on to create another album called The Spirit, this consisted of tracks put together over the year and had many styles of music from dance, Jungle and Break Beat tracks, this album was the first album that the duo put onto CD and sold every copy that was made. During theses years Tony and Kevin embarked on their first ever festival in which they helped to organise with Oldham Council's, Sound Shop. This is were Tony and Kevin found that what they did was going to be what they did forever. Whilst at the sound shop They took part in 3 gigs one of which was at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, were they had a stall for information about the sound shop. At this point the pair knew they were different when they asked one member of a band if they could tune their guitar for the stand, the band member sniggered and asked “you cant tune a guitar and your gigging, what stage are you on that small one over there?” into which he revived the kick to the gonads reply “no mate were on the main stage just behind you, were using your stage just for our singer”. By this time Tony and Kevin were always being asked “oh your in a band what instrument do you play?” and loved the face expression as the reply that came was “a computer”, Puzzled looks are cool. This all in the space of less than a year. Time is now reaching June 1999 and the new millennium is on the way, for a change of lifestyle Tony and Kevin moved from Oldham to Portsmouth in search of a better life. This did not materialize instantly but did so over a number of years. As the move became stressful and the pair started to drift apart and take on other projects the music suffered, no music being created from the pair for some time. The pair decided to embark on other projects but to one day get back together and create more music as a pair. In this time the pair between them racked up another 5 albums worth of material, and Tony went to University to obtain a degree in music technology. In 2004 Tony and Kevin decided to create music together again but this time under a new name, after months of agonizing name throwing to each other they settled on the name Klavar. (which turns out was another word read incorrectly). Under this name the pair decided to create their first album and release it on their own label themselves Dispursed Reality was the first album by Klavar this album was an assault on your mind as the tracks had a weird sound about them, the album contained tracks that chilled you out and then dance tracks to lift you back up. As at this time the pair lived over 200 miles away from each other this album was created via MSN messages as parts were created and emailed to the other person to look at and edit. This was a weird way of working but the pair got past it and became very creative. This album kick started the label Klavar Recordings and the pair set about duplication and digital distribution; these were the first steps of what you see Klavar as today. After comments that the album was OK, but it had to many dance tracks and chilled tracks mixed in together we decided that the next project we worked on would be two separate albums containing Kevins love for dance music and the Ibiza vibe and Tony's love for weird and chilled music. As the plans for this big project were being born Klavar was put on the spot as a sky radio program (Pulse Rated) had contacted Tony about a feature. Once Rob Baily (DJ) heard the plans he was eager that the pair gave him an exclusive for the first week of the album for his radio show. This kicked the pair into action and the work began. After weeks of work the pair had come to the point to release the first parts of work from the album. These would be 2 E P's with tracks from the albums as well as a bonus track on each EP. The EP's would be named Dawn and Dusk. To keep in with the flavour of the albums. These EP's went down a storm on the Pulse Rated shows, driving Klavar to the top of the charts of that radio station. As the albums began to progress the duo approached a singer by the name of Sarice. This vocalist had some great tracks out and Klavar loved her sound, after checking each other out the two entities decided to create some tracks together. Your Touch and Reflections became big tracks for Klavar doing very well. Your touch was reviewed in Computer Music. Klavar and Sarice went on to create 5 tracks together for the two albums. These tracks became the highlights of the albums. DAY AND NIGHT erupted in 2007, two long years after the launch of Klavar. 23 tracks over two albums in all. The pair had now moved nearer to each and were working in the same room on the music. Day was a chilled album that had a lot of ambient and chilled music that a listener could listen to throughout the day while in relax mood. As the album came to a close, the tracks became a little more pacey towards dance to bring in the Night album. This album was packed with 12 Dance tracks that would keep you dancing on the dance floor all the way through it. The Day and Night albums were released a month apart via Klavar Recordings. With these experimental albums out of the way Klavar have grown with musical and production talent, this has now brought them to the place they yearned for when they began to create music in the dingy little room at broom street Oldham..This is the music that the pair love to create and only now feel that they have the talent to create it. This brings us full circle to Dark And Dirty Bastard Beats, yes It was said that this was the first studio album, all the other albums were learning curves for Klavar but were all made in the bedrooms of Tony and Kevin. Dark and Dirty Bastard Beats was created in a studio. Tony and Kevin rented a studio room from a friend at Hello Studios in Portsmouth this room acts as a base for Klavar Recordings and for Klavar to create the new master pieces about to hit your mind. Klavar is over 10 years in the making and things will only get better.
