Bio:
Priding themselves as the most misunderstood musical act in the Mid-Ohio Valley, Chemical Valley is a power trio formed from the remnants of two bands: 'The 5/8 Theory' and 'Greyface.' As many CV fans know, or have figured out, in 2010 Chemical Valley went through a partial lineup fragmentation. What was once 5 friends, turned to 3. But not before releasing two albums ('Vamanos' in 2008 and 'The Illusion of a Good Life' in 2009). The 'Illusion' album saw the release of an award-winning music video for the song 'Hole'. The band carried on as a 'power trio' consisting of Chris Shepard, Mitch Wagner, and Chris Day. At that time, the band's mood, modus operendi, and even instrumentation changed. Wagner continued singing lead vocals. However, he now added playing keys/organ and guitar to his roster of musical tasks. Day took up singing some backing vocals and playing an instrument called a 'Moog Taurus' (an analog floor synth) along with playing the instrument he is most noted for; the bass. Shepard's role as drummer in the band remained unchanged. Within 5 months, and laying to waste pretty much everything that had been contained on the first two albums, almost two albums worth of new material had been written. So, starting January 2, 2011, Chemical Valley set out to begin recording everything that had been composed from the time of the partial breakup. All of this during a short break inbetween a busy show schedule. The new album, dubbed "Roxidizer" (which will be released on limited edition yellow vinyl) will be released on April 23, 2011.
