Hello everyone, when it comes to music, especially Salsa music, I find it hard to turn off my creative mode. Sometimes, I have a hard time sleeping because I'm constantly thinking about my next song or music video.
I recently released my seventh album, Nostalgia. At the time of writing this, I have already produced two new songs: my own version of "La Bamba" and a tribute to a famous Salsa artist from the 70s, Angel Canales, titled "Lejos De Ti." This drives my wife crazy! LOL.
Regarding my new album, Nostalgia, I spent months creating this new production. I've wanted to make an English-style salsa album for a long time and for me, it was the perfect time to make it happen. I wanted to pay tribute to some of the most important singers of the past, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, James Brown and Celine Dion.
After learning about the health issues Celine Dion has been struggling with, I wanted to create my own Salsa version of the Titanic song, "My Heart Will Go On," to pay homage to her excellent music career and raise awareness about the terrible disease, Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) within the Hispanic community. I think this song will resonate with a lot of people.
I'd love to hear your opinion after you've purchased my new album, Nostalgia. Let me know which songs you like the most and which singers are your favorites.
